Dr. Jason Tambie is a Geographer and Lecturer in the Geography & Geology Department, Faculty of Science and Technology, The UWI, Mona. In this position he lectures undergraduate students in a variety of geography courses including geomorphology, which is the study of the Earth’s surface features e.g. mountains and their relationship to geological structures and activities such as volcanic and seismic. He is a geo-spatial researcher and is currently studying the use of data from satellites to investigate rainfall and oceanic features. He has over 10 years’ experience as a GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Geography educator working with under-graduate and postgraduate students as well as the public sector. Dr. Tambie graduated from The UWI, St. Augustine with an M.Phil in Geography in 2014 and a Ph.D. in Geoinformatics in 2018.
