Damani Brown is a technology professional and entrepreneur who uses science and computer skills to help people and businesses work better together. He is the founder and managing director of Ngage Events Jamaica, a company that creates fun, technology-driven experiences to improve teamwork and communication. Mr. Brown says, “I create and leverage technology to engage people, and bring them together. I specialize in using gamification and social gaming to help businesses form deep connections with their audiences in an imaginative way that makes people fall in love with your brand and remember your company”.
Before starting his own company, Mr. Brown worked in the technology field for private and public sector in Jamaica for several years. He served longest (over 6 years) at the Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS), where he helped lead digital transformation projects, which means using technology to make systems faster and more efficient. His work in information technology management inspired him to experiment with creative, tech-based ways to boost teamwork and productivity, eventually leading to the creation of his own business. He also launched initiatives like the “Adulting 101” conference to share knowledge and help young people prepare for life after school.
Damani Brown studied at The University of the West Indies (UWI), Mona, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree (B.Sc.) in Computer Science and later a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Mona School of Business and Management. These qualifications helped him build strong skills in both technology and business and his career shows how education in STEM subjects can lead to exciting opportunities in technology, entrepreneurship, and leadership.
