Andrew Long is a Jamaican actuary and business leader who currently serves as the Managing Director at Willis Towers Watson in the United Kingdom, a company with whom he has worked for the last 25 years. He specializes in pension risk management and helps organizations make important financial decisions for the future. Long is a graduate of the Wolmer’s School for Boys and earned his Bachelors (B.Sc.) degree at The University of the West Indies (UWI), Mona, where he studied Mathematics and Computer Science. He later continued his professional education at City University London, where he earned a Masters (M.Sc.) degree in actuarial studies. With these qualifications and further studies, he eventually became a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA). Throughout his career, he has worked in the actuarial and financial services fields, applying advanced mathematics, statistics, and technology to assess risk and develop solutions for complex financial challenges. Beyond his professional work, Andrew Long is passionate about helping young people succeed in mathematics and actuarial science. Along with Norbert Fullerton, he co-founded the IFoA Fullerton-Long Caribbean Scholarship, which supports talented students studying Actuarial Science at UWI campuses in Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago. In 2026, Long and Fullerton were awarded The UWI Mona – Faculty of Science and Technology Alumni Excellence - Philanthropy Award.
